The work for this project consists of construction of a new water treatment facility adjacent to the District’s existing supply Wells #7 and #8. The treatment building consists of an approximately 5,000 square foot masonry structure housing three 10-ft diameterGreensand Plus (GSP) media pressure filters and two 10-ft diameter Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) filters along with associated piping and appurtenances, controls, plumbing, HVAC and electrical work. The building will include a concrete basement level backwash residuals storage basin with pumps and force main to the gravity sewer system for GSP and GAC filter backwashing. The work also includes some ancillary work at the nearby pump station and installation of several chemical feed systems including chlorine gas, sodium bisulfite, ferric chloride, and potassium hydroxide.
