The Mill Pond Treatment Plant Upgrades project includes the installation and construction of a brand new PFAS Building as well as a new Transfer Pump Station which contains an underground Clearwell for finished water. Each of the two new buildings are tied into the existing Mill Pond Water Treatment plant as well as the existing water service lines for the town. Currently, the Town of Burlington’s water PFAS levels do not reach state standards. The new PFAS building contains a system of pressure vessels that were filled with anthracite and resin and allows water to flow through the new system to be properly treated before reaching the residents of Burlington and Woburn.
