Project involved a large new dewatering building and equipment upgrade, both mechanical and electrical. Project included excavation and concrete placement for building foundation and building structure to house two new large gravity belt thickeners. In order to install the foundation, several active process pipelines needed to be bypassed and rerouted around the foundation. Once the building was constructed, new equipment was craned in and process piping and electrical was connected. The building contained a separate electrical control room which housed all new MCCs and local equipment control panels. Project also included the removal of an existing belt filter press and removal of its building structure andall electrical components. The new equipment required new terminal blocks installed within the PLC, all equipment was tested per contract requirements as well as all new process piping. MCCs tested for circuit breaker load test and all power wires were meggar tested for compliance.
